Highlight:
Guangzhou is the capital of Guandong
Province and located at the heart of the Pearl River Delta region, the
largest contributor to China's growth over the past two decades.
Founded more
than 2000 years ago, Guangzhou is now a bustling megacity that is still
expanding its transportation, distribution and logistics capabilities.
The
first phase of Guangzhou's new International Airport will be opening with
a capacity of about 25 million passengers, expandable eventually up to 80M.
In 2001, the old Guangzhou Airport handled 13.8M passengers compared to
32.12M for Hong Kong and 20.66M for Shanghai.
